June 22, 2006 - Last year, the fathers of 61 percent of 57,442 children born in Georgia to unmarried parents put their names on their children’s birth certificates by filling out forms provided at the birthing hospital through the Voluntary Paternity Acknowledgement Program administered by the Department of Human Resources Office of Child Support Services (OCSS) through a contract with Policy Studies, Inc., in partnership with the hospitals and the Division of Public Health’s Vital Records Office.
May 16, 2006 - The DeKalb County Office of Child Support Services (OCSS) has sent letters to some 3,000 non-custodial parents, notifying them that if they visit the office between 8 a.m. and noon on May 22nd, 23rd or 24th and work with staff to establish their child support obligation, they will not have to go to court.

August 9, 2006 - As part of a drive to improve customer service for families and children throughout Georgia and help build the region's economy, the Office of Child Support Services (OCSS) has brought together some of its operations from across the state to an innovative new facility, or "hub," in East Dublin.
August 28, 2006 – Parents who pay child support and need help communicating with the custodial parent about spending time with their children may qualify for help from a new mediation service offered in DeKalb and Cobb County by the Georgia Department of Human Resources’ Office of Child Support Services (OCSS).
September 19, 2006 – Over 500 Houston County parents who are behind on child support will be offered the opportunity to make payments. This opportunity, appropriately named Amnesty Day, is being offered by the Georgia Department of Human Resources’ Office of Child Support Services (OCSS) and is extended to all parents with a child support case in Houston County who are at least two months behind on their payments.
September 27, 2006 –Thousands of dollars were collected during a one-day event from parents who were more than two months behind in back child support payments, due to a collaborative effort among the Office of Child Support Services, Houston County Probation, and the Houston County Sheriff’s Department.

May 19, 2006 - About 1,660 non-custodial parents in Gwinnett County have been sent letters notifying them that if they visit the Gwinnett County Office of Child Support Services (OCSS) on May 24 – 26 or June 5 – 9 and work with staff to establish their child support obligation, they will not have to go to court.
May 12, 2006 - More than 1,800 parents who are at least ten months behind in their court-ordered child support payments have been invited to report to the Lawrenceville office of the Georgia Department of Human Resources Office of Child Support Services (OCSS) on May 15, 16 or 17 and make a payment in order to avoid having legal actions taken against them.
June 2, 2006 – On Saturday, June 10, the weekend before Father’s Day, the Georgia Fatherhood Program will visit the Agrirama, Georgia' Museum of Agriculture, in Tifton, in search of fathers who are spending quality time with their children and honor them as "Golden Dads™." Volunteers will roam the facility from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. with the goal of finding 25 "dads to catch."

October 6, 2006 – Atlanta residents are invited to participate in a Fatherhood Summit on October 12, 2006, where they can learn about the services offered by the Office of Child Support Services (OCSS) and the Department of Technical Adult Education (DTAE).
May 8, 2006 - Parents who pay child support by check or money order each month now have the option of asking for the payments to be automatically transferred from their checking or savings account to the Georgia Department of Human Resources’ Office of Child Support Services (OCSS).

June 2, 2006 – Close to 5,000 DeKalb County parents who are at least nine months behind in their court-ordered child support payments have been invited to report to the Decatur office of the Georgia Department of Human Resources Office of Child Support Services (OCSS) June 5 - 9 and make a payment in order to avoid having legal actions taken against them. The parents must meet with OCSS staff, pay a minimum amount and work out payment schedules to eliminate their arrears.
November 13, 2006 – The Office of Child Support Services (OCSS) in Carrollton, Georgia is giving noncustodial parents the opportunity to put their "Children First," setting aside 2 days in November and 2 days in December as "Settlement Day".
July 10, 2006 - The Augusta Child Support Office sent boxes of canned food, reading and writing materials, personal hygiene items and other gifts contributed by staff to the 169th Security Forces Squadron in Iraq as part of that agency’s Office of Child Support Services (OCSS) Military Friends Project.
December 11, 2006 – The Americus Office of Child Support Services collected over $100,000 during a one-day Pre-Christmas Amnesty event. The funds were collected from parents who were more than two months behind in back child support payments.
